The Sound We are justly famous for our rich, mellow "European" sound. To achieve this we use select tonewood, and the expertise of our designers and craftsmen to obtain the optimum results from it. Our soundboard is made from German spruce, which comes from sustainable managed forests in Bavaria and is widely regarded as the best tonewood available, and our piano bridges are made from the highest grade maple. We further enhance the tone by our use of "Roslau" piano wire from Germany, handspun virgin copper bass strings and English hammer felt, which is expertly voiced by our craftsmen. The Touch Our touch is both comfortable for a beginner and highly responsive for the accomplished pianist. The secret behind this is the design and precision of our "Kemble" action, whose 6000+ parts are machined to a fine tolerance of 0.05mm. Further, whilst some manufacturers compromise on their key material, we use sitka spruce which is renowned for its stability in differing climatic conditions. The Design Our designers have been schooled in the long and rich tradition of British furniture design. Combining this heritage with their own design flair they have created a rather special range of elegant cabinets for our pianos in a selection of both natural open-pore wood and mirror-like polyester finishes. The Value The investment that we have made in our manufacturing technology and the resultant gains in efficiency, combined with the purchasing power that our size has given us, enables us to provide unbeatable value without compromising on quality. We invite you to compare our pianos with any of our competitors' and trust you agree that the Kemble piano not only sounds better but is better made. The Tuning Stability To ensure tuning stability we insert our nickel plated tuning pins into "Delignit" pin blocks. These are made in Germany and have an excellent reputation. Our cast iron frame is designed to comfortably support over 20 tons of tension and is made using the latest vacuum process technology. The Quality and Reliability From the selection of material to the precision of our work and the rigour of our testing procedures, our commitment to quality will ensure that one of our pianos will give you a lifetime's pleasure. Our pianos are played in many of the world's most famous music institutes including the leading Musikhochschule at Karlsruhe and the new Paris Opera house. Nick Gingell of the Royal Albert Hall, London writes of the Kemble piano "the durability and high quality of the instrument are testimony to the workmanship and skill of Kernble Pianos."
