In classical Greek mythology, Pegasus was the winged stallion who sprang from the body of the Gorgon Medusa after she was decapitated by Perseus, and was eventually placed by Zeus in the sky among the constellations. With a stroke of his hoof, he caused the spring Hippocrence to gush forth on Mount Helicon, home of the Muses, hence his modern association with the Muses, and especially poetry.

The Schimmel/Colani Pegasus grand offers documentary proof of how the creativity and artistic capabilities of a world renowned designer and the piano-manufacturing expertise of a famous international brand can ideally complement each other, resulting in the grand of the third millenium.

Nikolaus W. Schimmel, an avant-gardiste in the piano industry was willing to dare this quatum leap in the 300-year history of piano manufacturing. Thus, in a close cooperation between Schimmel and Professor Luigi Colani, a grand piano of the future was created, the design of which resulted in a unity of sound and form, an exemplary symbiosis which sets completely new standards in the industry.
